All tests and treatments performed on patients must be accurately recorded. These records include things like symptoms and medical history, examinations, test results, diagnoses, and treatment plans. The Registered Å·ÃÀÈÕº«ÊÓƵ Information Administrator ensures all required information recorded by RHIAs may also be used to improve patient care, assist in survey and research projects and help control costs. This credential requires a bachelor's degree and successful performance on the RHIA certification exam.

Working with records kept by the Registered Å·ÃÀÈÕº«ÊÓƵ Information Administrators, Registered Å·ÃÀÈÕº«ÊÓƵ Information Technicians (RHIT) help to improve patient care. RHITs review patient records and assign numeric codes, which are then used by special computer programs to determine insurance reimbursement. An RHIT credential requires an associate's degree and successful performance on the RHIT certification exam.

Social Worker

While it can be a very demanding job emotionally, Social Workers also have a very rewarding job. Social Workers provide support and counseling to patients and family members who are going through challenging circumstances. Social Workers also act as an advocate for patients who need assistance when discharged. Social Workers aid patients and family members in coordinating services such as Home Å·ÃÀÈÕº«ÊÓƵ Care when needed. Social Workers may also help patients arrange to receive insurance assistance if they qualify. Educational requirements for Social Workers normally consists of obtaining a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Social Work from an accredited school. A license in social work from your state of employment is also required.
